The weekend's garage sales are down at the bottom. Everything else is up here.
I took my son for a cruise and we ended up at Easterbrooks.
If you've never heard of Easterbrooks, it's one of Hamilton's oldest restaurants, serving hot dogs, hamburgers, and ice cream. Anyone who grew up here knows exactly what Easterbrooks is.
They opened close to 100 years ago and have done very minimal updates since. But that's kind of the appeal of this place. They've got old jukeboxes, old arcade machines, and photos of celebrities who have come through. It's covered in business cards from wall to ceiling.

They probably have fifteen different types of hot dogs to choose from, and all kinds of ice cream, but that's not really the appeal. The setting is. It does kind of take you back in time.
There's plenty of seating outside. It's actually quite a large property. But since it's fall, it was too cold for us to sit out there, so we grabbed a couple of stools at the table and slowly ate our hot dogs while he rambled on about anything he saw. I had to explain to him what this mini jukebox was and how it works.

There really isn't much to the story, except that Easterbrooks is a landmark in Hamilton. So if you want to grab your kid and go for something simple to eat, Easterbrooks is it.

The Heat Is On
I finally finished this thing for my lil man. I hope he appreciates it one day.
Going through this taught me a few things.
1. I've let my creative side fall asleep trying to find ways to pay the bills. This was truly fun. I'm writing this at 3am. I need to find more ways to get a creative outlet.
2. I need to find something I can finish a lot faster than this. I'm the type of person who has momentum for about a week, then something else catches my attention.
When I think about what my perfect life would look like, it's being around my family, driving fast cars, being active and making cool shit. The only thing stopping that right now is the pursuit of a financially free life.
It sounds sad as I read it back. I wonder what comes next.
